Sikorsky-Boeing Unveil 'Defiant X' Helicopter which is all set to replace Black Hawk helicopters in the near future

The next gen helicopter designed and developed by Sikorsky and Boeing will have twice  the range of Black Hawk and expected  to fly at twice the speed of helicopter  it will replace.
Defiant X has a coaxial rotor system and pusher propeller.
The next gen helicopter is designed in such a way that it can be handled at high speeds as  same way as it would have been handled in low speeds in Black Hawk's.
In addition  to that the new design incorporates tricycle style landing gears to facilitate  soft landings in harsh terrians.

The US army is expected to publish a request for proposal for the future helicopters later this year in 2021.

And the contract for the futurisitc helicopters is expected to be awarded to the winner by 2022.

Along with Defiant X other teams like Bell - Textron is building the V-280 Valor for the contract of FLRAA for the US army.
