India's first batch of 5 Rafale fighters to reach India On 29th July 2020 in Ambala air base .
As per the inter governmental deal signed in 2016 between India and France for 36 Rafales ,first batch of these state of the art 4.5 generation fighter jets will arrive in India on 29th July.

As of now 5 Rafale jets are expected to arrive.
Out of these 5 jets 3 fighters are twin seat version while 2 are standard single seat versions.
These Rafales have taken off from France this morning and will land in UAE along its path to India.
In the first leg of travel these fighters will be re-fueled in the air by French Air Force's tanker.

Also the fighter planes are flown by Indian Air Force pilots as they were undergoing training in France for sometime now.

India's Rafale comes with 13 India Specific Enhancements.
India have already signed the deal for Meteor air to air missile along with air to surface SCALP missile.
The shipments for these missiles have already arrived in India.

Apart from that India have also asked France for hammer missiles which are ground attack precision ammunition under emergency purchase.

This will make Indian Rafales a formidable fighter jet in the region. With help of these missiles India will be able to fully operationalise Rafale fighter very quickly in it's northern frontier along side China.
The fighter jets will first join 17th squadron of Indian Air Force "Golden Arrows " in Ambala air force base in Haryana.
